Osas has become to were they class everything as a work. And to defend their doctrine, they have to push works for salvation on anyone that might disagree with their belief (which includes anyone who believes you can lose salvation). And even if you show them they are wrong, they just ignore what you have said. As far as proving that no-osas is not a "works" founded doctrine to an osas believer, you might as well hit your head against a wall.
| No works used for slothfulness.... |
When it comes to doing the will of God, or the works for the kingdom, the osas believer always has an excuse to get around this.
Example: I once was ministering to a osas believer about a sin they were having problems with. They were locked into committing a certain sin, and when I told them what was needed to be done to release them of it. I was accused of advocating work for salvation. This person told me they would do the sin again, and had no problems with it. And even though the osas subject never came up, to separate from what they did not want to commit to doing, I was accused of something I do not believe in. And because of their accusation, it was their excuse to never speak to me again.
They wanted all their sin, and only wanted to get rid of one sin. A sin that destroyed their marriage. God is not a halfway God. His word says: You are either for me or against me.... Which means there is no halfway. Getting rid of only one sin, as the person above wanted to do, was making God into someone who condones sin by making some sin acceptable, and others unacceptable. Osas makes the believer draw the line for sin, in the middle of sin. God draws the line for sin, at the very begining of sin.
Eternal security gives those who have a weakness to sin an excuse to never repent.
Example: I have ran into old friends who were really into the secular life, and I knew they were saved at a younger age. And when I ask why, they said: Why worry? We can't lose salvation (osas). Party until you die I say. And if I have time for God, I might do something in that direction... What a sorry excuse for sin.
| Osas=Predestination and Calvinism.... |
The predestination, and the Calvinist crowd, also believe the osas doctrine. In fact it is one of the strongest parts of their belief. Predestination means you are predestined for heaven or hell. And you basically have no choice. If your predestined for heaven, there's no sin that can condemn you. Which is a type of eternal security. And if your predestined for hell, there no way to save you. Anything that denies salvation by choice is wrong. God does not run a Matrix, where we are all robots with no choice or free will. And a free gift is given, it is not forced.
