A POEM OF SURRENDER – CAROLINE MULLIEZ – Copyright 2016 HMP Peterborough (Her Majesty’s Prison)

A frail, lonely woman with a heart full of pain My heads full of reason, but mind barely sane 25 years with drugs in my life. Not much of a mother and No longer a wife So full of excuses So full of lies. I end up in jail and feel so despised. When I looked in that mirror saw my deathly dull eyes Once a highflier – what a demise A face, old and bitter with sad wasted years, a face old and dying. With no sign of tears When I looked again, I saw the truth of my life, the disgust, the mistrust, the abuse, and the strife. A shell of a girl with a heart barley beating So thin and so haggard Had enough of the cheating I had to face reality and up to the crimes. This time the court said I must do the time. I tried it my way, again and again. I caused so much anguish, destruction, and pain. I CRIED out LORD please help me! Please HELP me I cried! This time I meant it, This was no lie. I got LOVE in my HEART, this faith I was feeling. I SURRENDERED to GOD and then came the HEALING!!!
